The Cornwall Camper Company’s latest edition, Peggy the VW Camper, is a ray of sunshine on wheels and an absolute joy to feast your eyes on. She basically drives along the road and people have to put their sunglasses on…. fact.
Peggy the VW camper was a grotty, hungover, “left out” type of camper, the one you’d never pick for your five a side until we took her under our camper company wing and worked some serious magic on her grubby butt. As you can see, she is now a glossy, happy beauty of a van, literally, bringing sunshine to Cornwall.
Peggy is a 1975 US Import (which mean’s she is a left hand drive guys – what we call a “lefty!”), she has a 1600cc Bay Window with a Rivera Pop Top – which means she is straight up in the air and she can sleep four!
We have a hugely strict rule when you book her up… you absolutely must wave at other campers on the road – be rude not to eh?
We need to let you know though, driving an old VW like Peggy is a pretty awesome experience, but it is certainly different from driving a modern car! The brill Ben gives a great driving lesson when you come to pick up the camper but it may take a little while to get used to how the gears work and where the handbrake is!
Find out below about Peggy’s “excess baggage” and if there is anything we have missed off that would make your holiday with her perfect, then just ask. We – and she, aim to please.
